Elizabeth and Jeremy 01/20/2024
I had the honor of capturing Elizabeth and Jeremy's wedding at St. Rita's Catholic Church in Wellington, FL with the reception at Elizabeth's family home in Loxahatchee, FL. I met these two 10 days prior to their wedding day when we did a late engagement session. I always try to get to know my wedding couples before their big day, so offering a complimentary engagement session to my couples is so important to me. Think about it, I'm going to be tagging along on one of the most important days of their lives- we want to know each other, lol.
Maria, who is Elizabeth's cousin, is who I did most of the communicating with, which is totally fine. She was incredibly nice and laid back. I don't think I could've asked for a better family to communicate with! We had our initial call- which again, is so important, so 1- you can make sure I'm real, 2- I can make sure you're real and 3- we can make sure we all vibe together before we even meet. During the call it was all good vibes. Maria discussed everything with Elizabeth and her sisters and from there we were able to schedule the engagement session.
When I finally got the opportunity to meet the couple, I was so freaking thankful they chose me. They are the SWEETEST couple, so laid back and go with the flow. They also had a good sense of humor and went along with all of my crazy poses and prompts.
Elizabeth and Jeremy were together for 9 years before tying the knot. They share a BEAUTIFUL little girl named Aracely, and she along with Elizabeth's grandmother, aunt and Maria all came along for the engagement photos. I made sure to include a few group photos of everyone and of course some family photos of Elizabeth, Jeremy and Aracely.
Fast forward to their wedding day. I arrived at Elizabeth's family home in Loxahatchee, FL. I started with the detail photos of the rings, flowers, and special items provided to me by the bride. I always request that these items are set aside and easily accessible by someone in the bridal party, so when I arrive I don't have to bother the bride and I'm able to get right to work. The girls were all getting their hair and make up done while I was capturing the details. Once I was done with that, I did some "getting ready" photos of Elizabeth and then group photos of the girls, family etc. The boys were also there but in a different section of the house. The ONE (and I think only) request I received was "game day" photos of the groom and his guys, so we did just that! It was def a lot of fun and I love that they wanted to do them!
Once I was done with the guys and the girls, I headed over to Saint Rita's Catholic Church. Most churches don't allow flash photography so I wanted to get there ahead of time and asses the lighting situation. I had my second shooter with me as well. All of my wedding packages, including elopements, come with a second shooter for the ceremony. She is also my assistant so she helps carry my gear, helps with the dress, makes sure your hair and make up are perfect, and anything else we need on your wedding day!
The guests started arriving and I waited outside for the bride. She sent me over some "inspo" photos prior to the big day, so I made sure to capture the photos she wanted, the photos from the "shot" list, and then the rest I document the day as it is. i capture all of the love and emotions. The ceremony was beautiful we captured all the little moments, and of course the big moments throughout the entire ceremony. After the ceremony, the guest all lined up and each took a turn having their photos taken with the newlyweds. I really LOVE this idea, as it ensures that we've captured photos of each guest with the bride and groom. We also got the bridal party, immediate family, extended family, etc.
We headed back to Elizabeth's family home for the reception. I captured a lot of candids of guests and the couple. They weren't allowed to go outside because the reception area was still being set up and it was a surprise. Once they were able to go out, I found the PERFECT oak tree with the sun peeking through so beautifully. I knew that was where we needed to capture the newlyweds for their photos. THEY. WERE. INCREDIBLE!
The BIG reveal-
I captured Elizabeth, Jeremy and Aracely entering the reception area complete with a red carpet entrance. A lot of people attending the reception were not at the ceremony so again the guests lined up and took photos with the bride and groom at the sweetheart table. I HIGHLY, HIGHLY recommend this. I've captured weddings where the bride and groom go table to table, but having them stationary and the guests lining up to get photos with them is SOOOO much better for the bridge and groom. Its easier, more efficient, and you don't have to worry about messy tables or trying to round up each member of the table. Simply have the DJ call out the table #s to line up for photos... trust me... you wont be disappointed! When we were done with all the different groupings of guests and family photos, it was time to go.
I had an amazing time with these two and their families. They were the most laid back couple and I truly appreciate them for trusting me to capture their wedding day! I look forward to watching their love grow.
